BLACK HOMEPLACES - a disco co(lab)

DISCO CO(LAB) is a new series of inter-institutional collaborative research projects hosted by the Black Communication and Technology (BCaT) Lab at the University of Maryland. This semester we are developing the Black Homeplaces Co(Lab), a project that harnesses VR/AR to recreate the ever-changing sites of the Black homeplace and Black placemaking practices across the African diaspora.

Interested in developing a research project in the Black Homeplaces DISCO CO(LAB)? Applications extended until Wednesday 15th January, to support innovative research across a variety of mediums, including but not limited to:

  • An Extended Reality (XR) exhibition

  • Journal publications

  • Artistic outputs

  • Audiovisual materials.
